Busy Month

Ok it is time to play catch up. It has been a busy month, but so much fun. We have spent a lot of time with family. First, my niece and nephew are back. Over Christmas break their dad practically kid napped them. He took them and let us have no contact with them. It was months of worrying and seeing my mom cry herself to sleep every night. He and his girlfriend are abusive and addicts. We are so grateful they are safe and back with us. We found out they were staying with their grandparents in Provo and she allowed them to sleepover a couple weeks ago. We had too much fun and there was lots of people for them to visit so we talked them in to letting them stay longer, go camping with my dad, and stay for Colby's blessing. After the blessing my mom received a phone call from the grandparents saying they don't want the kids back ever. So sad, but we were thrilled. The kids will be living with my dad and step mom. It has been fun spending time with themThe last week of July we spent in Ogden with Aaron's family. We had everyone together celebrating his sister Karissa'swedding. His parents reserved the copes course for us. It was a lot of fun. We played a lot of trust games. We had to hold on to a rope with our eyes shut and form a straight line going North and South, and make a square. This took a lot of communicating skills. These activities prepped us for other activities. We split into 2 groups. Once we did that we stood in a circle taking turns being in the middle. The person in the middle closed there eye's and fell into the others arms while holding really stiff, then got pushed around. After we all had a turn we did the trust fall. We took turns falling off a big platform into family members arms. It took a lot of coaxing to get me to do it. I was terrified and wanted so badly to back out. This was a great learning experience for me. As we fell, and caught others we had to trust, work together, and communicate. We were able to open up to each other, build testimonies, and become closer as a family. Then came the strength activities. Climbing and walking on a tight ropes. I was not able to participate in this due to just having a baby, so I was the photographer. It was fun to sit back and watch everyone and help cheer them on.

The rest of the week was spent getting ready for the wedding. The reception was in the back yard and it turned out perfect. The decorations, flowers, cake, weather, everything was great. It was so fun to see everyone, and spend time together. Karissa and Jeff make such a cute couple. We are so happy for them!

To top the week off we blessed Colby on the 2nd. It was a nice day. We are so grateful for our family and friends, and all love and support they give us. After the blessing we had a luncheon at the park across from our church. We have pictures of family but none of Colby in his little white suite. Like all new borns do, right after church he had an accident. But don't worry I am going to get his pictures done in it so you can all see how handsome he looked.
